I spent the day at Wellington's Bay the other day painting a small study while the kids played and laughed around me, families rolled out their picnic rugs and played beach rugby (where the rules are not really an issue). The clouds came and went bringing a respite from the heat and as I sat on a rock in front of this scene I felt like just about the luckiest guy in the world. The return of the golden weather and what seemed like the first day of summer.
