I had gone on the beach with the hope of capturing some dune grasses set alight with the last rays of the sun but I arrived only a few minutes too late as the sun ducked behind some clouds low on the horizon. Turning away towards the sea I was suddenly and deeply inspired by the subtle harmony of the scene before me. It was a moment of revelation to me, not that it was so beautiful, but that I had the burning desire to paint it. The icing on the cake came when, looking up, I noticed the moon's pale face watching me in my moment of joy. . Detail
