On an early morning jog down the beach a few weeks ago I came across this old canoe washed up on the bank of the estuary. It looked so great I ran home and then all the way back again with my camera and took a bunch of photos. That evening I came back to find that someone had dragged it up into the dunes away from the tide. I got some beautiful photos in the very last rays of the sun. I had been working on a commission in the studio of ' Bream Bay Reflections ' (a dinghy on the beach) and had been wondering about borrowing someones boat to model on the beach so this canoe came as what still seems like a gift from God. The next day it was gone and I thanked my lucky stars for taking the photo opportunities when I did.
