On an early morning jog down the beach a few weeks ago I came across this old canoe washed up on the bank of the estuary. It looked so great I ran home and then all the way back again with my camera and took a bunch of photos. That evening I came back to find that someone had dragged it up into the dunes away from the tide. I got some beautiful photos in the very last rays of the sun. I had been working on a commission in the studio of 'Bream Bay Reflections' (a dinghy on the beach) and had been wondering about borrowing someones boat to model on the beach so this canoe came as what still seems like a gift from God. The next day it was gone and I thanked my lucky stars for taking the photo opportunities when I did.
