I see these dunes and this beach almost daily, but they never fail to impress me. The vast sweep of Ruakaka Beach stretches out to the horizon and gives me a sense of not only how small we are, but how blessed we are to be here. The sun setting in the west sometimes seems to set the swaying dune grasses on fire. I was going to have a person wearing red sitting in the dunes looking out to sea, but in the end I thought it would be like having someone sit in front of your view of the beach and kind of spoil it. |
