Matauri Bay has a very special place in the history of Aotearoa, with some of the first Polynesian Navigators landing here, and it's also the site of early contact with Europeans like the missionary Samuel Marsden in 1814. In addition, this is now the resting place of the Greenpeace ship the Rainbow Warrior. |
