Time to read this newsletter: about 4 minutes.
Hi Everyone,
Well I'm late with this again aren't I? I can't believe we're into APRIL already! I am trying - Helen tells me I'm very trying. If you'd like more regular updates you could sign up over at my blog here: http://thecompleteartist.ning.com
Meanwhile let's see if you won the painting there with the little tomatoes peering out.... The winner is...
Boni Hill-Palmer!!! Congratulations Boni, and sorry to everyone else - I know it's disappointing there can only be one winner with this thing, but at least you get another chance next time.
For anyone concerned about the economy at the moment (I guess that means everyone), I can happily report that things are going pretty well for me at the moment despite all the doom&gloom. It's true that sales through galleries have pretty much dried up over the past 6 months, but we're being kept fed now by an unusually large number of commissions and my lessons are doing really well too, as well as my print sales. Go figure!
So there's plenty to do at the moment and that keeps my spirits up, despite getting a bit lonely here in the studio sometimes - but I'm even working on a way to fix that right now with video conferencing other artists around the world - will let you know how that goes.
Oh I nearly forgot... to show that even absolute beginners can get good results using my lessons I've challenged Helen (my wife) to take one of my video lessons and do a painting (and I promise not to help!) - so we will have the results of that in the next few weeks too. (I hope she does a good one!)
Till then,
All the best,
Richard
