Chris Coffey is a Northland based painter focused on the abstract expression of the journey of life and it's attached emotions, including but not limited to, the stresses and strains forced upon us by a mechanised and systemised society. He works with a range of mixed media from acrylic and oils to wire, steel and other ephemera in a uniquely bold post modern style. Self trained and painting part time for only 2 years, Chris's work is remarkably strong and he shows all the promise of becoming a prominent New Zealand artist within a very short time.
